In Grenoble

Sightseeing

If you want to do some sightseeing while in Grenoble, you’ll find all the information you need at the tourist information centre. There are several museums you can visit.

The Bastille

The main attraction in Grenoble are the surrounding mountains! The Bastille is one of the easiest to access, you can walk right up from the city centre, or take the cable car. The cable car won’t allow you to take your unicycle with you, but you can ride your unicycle on most of the paths. You can download a map of the different paths here and you can find more information on the history of the place by downloading this leaflet.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also get up there using the via ferrata. You can rent kits for that in several shops in Grenoble, and also hire a guide for a day or a couple of hours.

The Museum of the French Revolution

The Bastille in Grenoble has nothing to do with the French Revolution, but the Castle of Vizille, in the suburbs of Grenoble, is said to be a birthplace of it. It now houses the Museum of the French Revolution.
